Mobile / Web Developer - Spectrum Health - Grand Rapids, MI

E-mail Mike.Foster@rightthinginc.com for more information!!!

Spectrum Health's Corporate Web and Mobile Development Team is growing, and we're looking for developers with iOS and/or Android mobile development experience to join our team!

As a member of the Web and Mobile Development Team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the mobile apps, web applications, and web services that drive Spectrum Health. Along with other developers, architects, and analysts, you will act as a member of a cross-functional agile project team. You'll be empowered to work directly with our customers to come up with innovative ideas and new ways of doing things. Learning new technologies is a way of life for our developers.

While we typically develop iOS and Android applications using Objective C and Java, you might just as easily be asked to develop a mobile web application using C#/.NET and JQuery Mobile, modify a complex desktop web application using MVC.NET 4.0, or support a legacy application written in Perl. The ideal candidate is not tied to a specific language or technology; rather, he/she is a software developer and technologist, able to adapt to a continually changing landscape of projects and technologies.

For this opening, we are specifically seeking an experienced developer with at least a year of iOS and/or Android development experience.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or other degree with equivalent experience.

Two (2) years experience developing and supporting applications.

System development lifecycle experience, including requirements, coding, testing and implementation.

1 year of mobile development experience, including native application development for iOS and/or Android platforms.

Fluent in Objective C, C# and/or Java.

Able to lead, manage and coordinate projects within a team environment.

Sound knowledge of relevant technology, tools and methods including:
- Code development and component re-use
- Testing: unit, regression, integration, load, system, fault, and exploratory
- Development methodology: agile, waterfall, iterative, prototyping, etc.
- Change control, change management, and release management
- Tiered support models
- Troubleshooting and Incident Management

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to speak English well enough to be understood by coworkers, customers, and the public.
